Description & Details
The THERMAPOOL® in-ground insulation system is a molded polystyrene panel process for in-ground thermal insulation of private family pools.
The THERMAPOOL® in-ground insulation system insulates the load-bearing concrete inverts of private family pools with the following characteristics:
- Flat-bottomed pools without level variation
- Water height ≤ 1.50 m
- Height of vertical pool walls ≤ 1.50 m
- Reinforced concrete thickness of vertical walls ≤ 0.20 m
- Invert thickness ≤ 0.20 m
- Peripheral invert overhang to outside of basin, beyond vertical walls ≤ 0.25 m
- Operating loads applied to the ground near the pool: people traffic only (e.g. no parking or vehicle passage areas)
Mechanical strength and stability
Generalized raft and reinforced concrete foundation supporting the structure's loads and external actions. This type of foundation enables loads to be efficiently distributed over the ground.
Fire safety
In the running and buried sections, the slab and backfill act as a fire screen, providing protection in the event of fire.
Thermal insulation
Limits surface losses and completes the thermal insulation treatment with insulation of vertical walls.
Thermal inertia
The insulation stores the heat absorbed from the water, releasing it when the surrounding temperature drops, for improved energy management.
