Foam molding
The molding of cellular foams allows for the design of lightweight and resistant parts thanks to an optimized internal process. This process, which is particularly suited to technical parts as well as protective, cushioning, and industrial packaging solutions, is carried out at Knauf Industries using EPS, EPP, or circular materials. Other even more specialized materials are also available.
Parts produced by molding cellular foams can offer a wide range of features and benefits depending on your needs: lightness, shock and load absorption, thermal and acoustic insulation, mechanical strength, etc.

The circular economy (3R) at the heart of our processes
To reduce our impact and that of your company on the environment, we propose a circular economy process based on the 3R rule:
- Reduce : Make products and systems lighter, and use recycled materials.
- Reuse: Reusable solutions designed for multiple use cycles.
- Recycling: Recyclable and recycled materials via existing channels and the Knauf Circular® program dedicated to the collection and recovery of end-of-life EPS materials.
Case study: lightweighting in furniture
What better proof of our expertise than a concrete example? Profim, Europe's leading office furniture manufacturer, has collaborated with Knauf Industries to reduce the environmental impact of its products while maintaining their quality and durability. By replacing traditional plywood with recycled expanded polypropylene and optimizing the design, we have reduced part weight by 15%*..
Between production and transport, this represents a carbon footprint reduction of 13% to 40%* compared with standard furniture made from wood or wood-based raw materials. As an added bonus, this has enhanced product recyclability.
The result is a sustainable, competitive solution that meets both consumer expectations and regulatory requirements.
