WHAT IS EPP?

Expanded polypropylene is a plastic material characterized by a honeycomb structure that gives it excellent shock and vibration absorption properties. It is made from polypropylene granules that are expanded at very high pressure by a blowing agent, to form expanded polypropylene.

At the end of the process, it is free of any residual blowing agent. These expanded polypropylene beads are then die-cast to obtain the desired shape, whether for protective equipment, packaging parts or industrial components.

As an engineering material with many different properties, Neopolen® or EPP performs several functions at once. The molded parts are equally suitable for packaging, for casings, as impact protection and as heat and sound insulation, e. g. for electronic devices and heating equipment.

Therefore, new design possibilities are opened up in the field of technical and electronic devices. Components such as ventilator fans or electronic components that were previously fastened in metal holding devices can be reliably anchored by closefitting insertion into the viscoelastic assembly frame of Neopolen® or EPP. This saves time and weight while simultaneously assuring a high level of transportation safety.
