CIRCULAR MATERIALS ALTERNATIVE TO EPS, PPE, PP AND PET OF FOSSIL ORIGIN
In partnership with our suppliers, we are working on new materials from renewable resources or from recycling (materials derived from the recycling of post-consumer plastic waste) and specialty foams.

OUR ALTERNATIVE MATERIALS
NEOPS®
Alternative material to EPS from sustainable renewable resources.
CELOOPS®
Alternative material to EPS from recycled post-consumer plastic waste.
RELOOPS®
Alternative material to EPS from the mechanical recycling of PS or EPS waste.
RELOOPP®
Alternative material to PPE from post-consumer recycled PPE waste.
R’KAP®
Notre matière alternative au PP.
RPET
Matières alternatives au PET.
NEOPS®
Knauf Industries has developed NEOPS®, a foam material made from raw materials from sustainable renewable resources* and certified throughout the value chain by REDcert2, a certification system for the use of renewable resources.
Neops® is an alternative to expanded polystyrene manufactured according to the Mass Balance approach. This material innovation by Knauf Industries was born from a collaboration between ID Lab, our development and innovation center and raw material producers.
At the end of their life, NEOPS® products will be sorted and recycled in existing EPS channels.
*Biomass from industrial waste unfit for food use or organic waste (organic waste from the forestry industry, not contributing to deforestation, no competition with agricultural land intended for food production). Directive (EU) 2015/1513, Annex IX, Part A
CELOOPS®
The resource used comes from post-consumer recycled plastic waste. The entire value chain is certified, from the resource used to the successive manufacturing processes. The certification of each step allows us to obtain a product certificate issued by REDcert2 for the manufacture and marketing of CELOOPS® products. This REDcert2 certification guarantees that the producers of alternative raw materials have indeed substituted the virgin fossil resource with the resource derived from the recycling of post-consumer plastic waste.
In addition to being made up to 100% from raw materials derived from the recycling of post-consumer plastic waste, CELOOPS® is recyclable in existing EPS channels, as well as in the Knauf Circular® waste collection and recovery service.
RELOOPS®
This alternative to EPS is manufactured by mechanical recycling of pre-consumer and post-consumer PS or EPS waste.
For packaging, the use of material containing post-consumer waste is eligible for the eco-contribution premium, depending on the eligibility conditions of the eco-organizations.
These materials provide a solution in favor of the circular economy because they reduce the use of fossil raw materials. RELOOPS® products are to be placed in the sorting bin and recyclable in existing EPS channels and the EPS collection and recovery service, Knauf Circular®.
RELOOPP®
This alternative to expanded polypropylene (EPP) is made from post-consumer recycled EPP waste.
This material provides a solution in favor of the circular economy because it reduces the use of fossil raw materials. This material is suitable for industrial applications; HVAC, automotive and agri-food. It is also used for the manufacture of reusable packaging.
Reloopp® solutions are recyclable in EPP industrial sectors.

R’KAP®
R’KAP® is a mono-material suitable for packaging food products, made up to 100% from post-consumer plastic recycling. Formulated on a PP polypropylene base, it is intended for the manufacture of thermoformed or injected products and completes the KAP’ range of materials by offering perfect welding quality under a protective atmosphere or under skin. It is microwaveable and pasteurizable and is available in Kapseal®, KAPclear® and Kaplight®.
In addition to its excellent sealing qualities, R’kap® is recyclable in existing PP sectors.
RPET
rPET, or recycled PET, is a sustainable alternative to traditional polyethylene terephthalate (PET). Made from recycled post-consumer PET bottles and packaging, rPET plays a key role in reducing plastic waste and decreasing reliance on fossil raw materials. This sustainable material has diverse applications ranging from textiles and food packaging to industrial products and everyday consumer items.
By promoting the circular economy, rPET contributes to more responsible resource management and the fight against plastic pollution.
THE CIRCULAR ECONOMY OF PLASTICS AT THE HEART OF OUR APPROACH
Integrate
all internal and external stakeholders concerned by the product from the start of the project.
Reduce
the amount of material, in weight and volume.
Consider
the reuse of products from their design stage.
Allow
better sorting and recycling of parts by favoring the use of single materials
Integrate
recycled materials from sorting industrial or household waste.
Integrate
more materials from renewable resources or recycled waste
