Custom pharmaceutical packaging
Isothermal solutions to preserve the integrity of medicines, vaccines, and temperature-sensitive products at every stage of the supply chain. Knauf Industries designs and manufactures custom pharmaceutical packaging made from EPS and EPP, tailored to the technical and regulatory requirements of the healthcare sector.

Designing pharmaceutical packaging tailored to your challenges
The transport of medicines, vaccines, and medical devices requires strict control of temperature, humidity, and logistical conditions. Indeed, a large proportion of medical devices must be transported in full compliance with the cold chain, at temperatures between +2°C and +8°C, or even at sub-zero temperatures for certain biotherapies.
To meet these challenges, Knauf Industries designs customized insulated packaging that guarantees thermal stability, product integrity, and compliance with regulatory requirements throughout transport.
Thanks to our expertise in cellular molding and our co-development approach, we develop solutions capable of maintaining temperature ranges from -80°C to +25°C, while protecting products from shock and vibration.
Customization: the key to safe transportation of your products
Are you a professional in the pharmaceutical industry struggling to find a reliable solution for transporting your products? We know that standard solutions do not always meet the specific requirements of pharmaceutical products.
That's why we offer custom-made pharmaceutical packaging designs that allow us to adapt the dimensions and useful volume, the thickness and density of the walls, as well as the internal configuration and padding. Beyond these physical aspects, our teams can also help you adapt the temperature maintenance time and the logistical and climatic conditions of the packaging for controlled cold chain transport.
With its custom solutions, Knauf Industries guarantees optimal preservation by complying with pharmaceutical distribution standards (ISTA 7E or NF S99-700).

The materials we can use
For the manufacture of custom pharmaceutical packaging, such as our catalog products, we use materials that enable us to create robust, lightweight solutions that are suitable for cold chain processes.
Our pharmaceutical packaging is mainly made from:
EPS (expanded polystyrene)
- Up to 98% air for optimal thermal insulation
- Lightweight and reduced transport costs
- Good shock absorption
- Recyclable material
EPP (expanded polypropylene)
- Approximately 95% air
- High mechanical strength
- Reusable and washable
- Suitable for returnable logistics circuits
In line with the circular economy, we can replace these materials with recycled raw materials or raw materials from renewable resources (biomass), which are themselves recyclable.
The advantages of our custom pharmaceutical packaging
Our solutions are designed to meet the technical constraints of the sector with precise temperature control from -80°C to +25°C, effective protection against shocks and vibrations during transport, and weight control to reduce logistics costs.
Whether designing custom pharmaceutical packaging or using our catalog range of products, we guarantee full compliance with pharmaceutical standards, the use of recyclable or reusable materials, and the use of pre-qualified solutions that can be tested in the laboratory.
Don't compromise on the reliability of your processes and transport safety with Knauf Industries insulated packaging.
Customization of your packaging
The custom pharmaceutical packaging we design can be fully customized in terms of:
- Dimensions and volumes
- Wall thickness and density
- Internal fittings and layouts
- Colors and markings
- Integrated accessories (temperature sensors or connected devices)
