This initiative meets the requirements of France&#8217;s &#8220;Climate and Resilience&#8221; law, which allows polystyrene-containing packaging to be recycled, provided it can be integrated into a recycling chain. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9d41036 e-con-full e-flex e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"9d41036\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ef6ca46 elementor-widget-divider--view-line elementor-widget elementor-widget-divider\" data-id=\"ef6ca46\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"divider.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-divider\">\n\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-divider-separator\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-96d124e elementor-widget__width-initial elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"96d124e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"mb-2 whitespace-pre-wrap\"><strong>Testing the &#8220;CreaStyr&#8221; project<\/strong><\/h3><p class=\"mb-2 whitespace-pre-wrap\">The latest tests carried out as part of the &#8220;Cr\u00e9aStyr&#8221; project set up by representatives of the industry are conclusively in line with the legal framework.<\/p><p class=\"mb-2 whitespace-pre-wrap\">By 2025, the regulatory framework allows for the development of a high-performance recycling sector for household, industrial and commercial EPS and XPS packaging in France, provided that recycling is carried out on an industrial scale.<\/p><p class=\"mb-2 whitespace-pre-wrap\">In addition, the position of COTREP (Technical Committee for the Recycling of Household Plastic Packaging), of which Elipso is a member, also admits the possibility, when it stresses the need for in-depth tests and studies on the sorting behavior of EPS and XPS packaging.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-45f892e elementor-widget__width-initial elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"45f892e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"mb-2 whitespace-pre-wrap\"><strong>International recognition and objectives<\/strong><\/h3><p class=\"mb-2 whitespace-pre-wrap\">The Ellen MacArthur Foundation has already recognized the worldwide recyclability of EPS insulation and protective packaging, based on government analysis reports.<\/p><p class=\"mb-2 whitespace-pre-wrap\">The Cr\u00e9aStyr project aims to organize the recycling of household, industrial and commercial packaging made from XPS\/PSE. It is a major initiative by manufacturers to : <\/p><ul><li>Develop efficient collection and sorting of EPS and XPS packaging;<\/li><li>Increase the recycling rate and guarantee the sustainability of the sector;<\/li><li>Support the choices of marketers and inform deposit holders by measuring, raising awareness and communicating on collection and recycling possibilities for EPS and XPS packaging.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-49d5935 elementor-widget__width-initial elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"49d5935\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"mb-2 whitespace-pre-wrap\"><strong>Current Solutions and Future Developments<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"mb-2 whitespace-pre-wrap\">Collection and sorting solutions already exist, whether at waste collection centers, warehouses, ports or national markets (MIN). Solutions for integrating recycled materials (rPS) from XPS food packaging or EPS protection are possible and already in place.
