The principle consists of creating a polystyrene or closed-cell material pattern identical to the final item required and sublimating it with molten metal during the casting operations.
“Lost pattern” production makes it possible to:
– Reduce casting costs
– Reduce deburring
– Reduce, or even eliminate machining
– Produce one-piece items to avoid assemblies
This process ensures a rough casting that is very similar to its final shape, high dimensional precision and the production of a hollow body with particularly complex geometry.
