The collection of expanded polystyrene

You are an industrial company or retailer. Your EPS packaging deposit is higher than 100 tones/year.

Collect your EPS parts in plastic bags and contact the commune or the nearest Knauf Industries production plant. After the pick-up, the packaging will either go down the EPS network on our sites (if not dirty) or the PS network.

To reduce the volume of your waste and therefore the pick-up frequency and the transportation costs, we suggest you to install a compactor.

Example: The collection of a 130 t/year deposit which needs a truck of 120 m³/day, that is to say 260 rotations/year, will need less than 10 trucks/year if compacted.

To know compactor manufacturers, please contact us info@knauf-industries.com  or contact  Ecopse.

You are an artisan or small retailer. Your EPS packaging deposit represents 5 to 100m³/month

To pick up and recycle the little spread deposits of artisans, retailers and households, a national network called “EPS point” was installed by Ecopse. Today there are more than 220 points in France; 350 tones have been recycled via this network in 2009. The objective of these points is to widen the access to owners of small quantities of EPS packaging each time a recycling file exists.
Today, the points are settled on production plants and in recycling centres.

Due to the setup of numerous “EPS points” in Dordogne (France), more than 38 recycling centres take EPS packaging of SMEs/SMIs to recycle them in close channels.

You are a private person, a household. You have a very small amount of EPS packaging.

Domestic EPS packaging is mainly put in the dustbin with other domestic wastes to be burned.

Aggregated companies like Eco-emballage, promote energy recovery because of its exceptional calorific power.

However, more and more local communities, located near recycling centers, settle “EPS points” to offer to artisans and households the possibility to recycle their EPS waste.
